Brief History
The university was formed in 1999 on amalgamation of a few training colleges but acquired a university status in 2005. Northampton Technical College integrated with the Nene College of Higher Education, Leathersellers College London and St. Andrews school of Occupational Therapy to collaborate the University of Northampton.

The university provides both distance and regular MBA which differ only by the duration of the course. A full-time degree completes in a year whereas the distance learnt MBA takes 2 years to complete.The distance learning opportunity is provided to fit around your busy life schedule.
The Guardian Newspaper ranked the university in one among the top 50’s of U.K in 2016. It is also one among the few universities to be ranked Gold in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).Its also in the top 20 in the list of colleges providing international student satisfaction as per the International Student Barometer Survey.
Accreditation
The degree programme has an extra accreditation of the CIPS(Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. CIPS is an international organisation serving the procurement and supply chain profession and it exists to help promote good practice in the industry.

Those willing to take an MBA from the University of Northampton can test the flavour of the course through MBA MOOC (Master of Administration Massive Open Online Course) after which you can make a firm statement. This provides a demo of the course which can be taken online free of cost. This runs twice a year.
Apart from regular MBA and distance MBA two other forms are also available. One is the executive MBA(Top Up) and the other being MBA with CIPS accreditation.
